We have a new tool in the toolbox... Options
I am excited to announce that we have an additional investment tool in our tool box to help you potentially achieve your goals, Options. What are Options? According to Investopedia, Options are a financial derivative that represents a contract sold by one party (option writer) to another party (option holder). The contract offers the buyer the right, but not the obligation, to buy (call) or sell (put) a security or other financial asset at an agreed-upon price (strike price) during a certain period of time or on a specific date (exercise date). For additional information, the US Securities and Exchange Commission has an Investor Bulletin titled An Introduction to Options. Click here to read this informative article.
Options were originally invented by insurance companies to hedge or protect their investments. Options can be used to potentially protect your investments as well. Option trading does involve unique and often significant risks, though, so we should talk to see if bringing Options trading into your account would be appropriate.
